Start with the room, not the feature list

A printer can fit on a desk and still be a poor fit for the room. The machine needs clearance, access for maintenance, a stable surface, and a sensible place for filament, tools, spare parts, and finished prints. Noise and material handling matter more when the workspace is also a bedroom, office, or shared living area.

Our goal is to make those constraints visible before a reader compares speed, build volume, automation, or price. A compact setup is not necessarily the smallest setup. It is one that can be used, maintained, and stored without disrupting the rest of the room.

Our firsthand reference point

Sean owns and uses a Bambu Lab X1C, has experience modifying existing models to fit measured constraints, and has begun designing original parts. That gives us a practical foundation for discussing setup and workflow. It does not mean we have personally tested every printer discussed here.

When future coverage relies on manufacturer specifications, independent testing, or inference instead of firsthand use, we will label that boundary clearly.
